How High Can Bilirubin Go If You're Told That Bloodwork On Your Liver Is Good.. "except For The High Bilirubin", What Does That Mean?

If you're told that bloodwork on your liver is good.. "except for the high bilirubin", what does that mean? - how high can bilirubin go

The blood work covered all things classic (complete blood count, cholesteral, etc.) as well as kidney and liver damage. Everything was normal except for elevated bilirubin. Another comment that the person concerned is an alcoholic.

It depends on how much bilirubin. It is very common for someone slightly elevated bilirubin and well - it is only normal that some people shouted, and Gilbert's syndrome. However, there are other causes, and I hope that the doctor other ways, such as infection or liver damage or problems with blood cells should take account. If you are due to alcohol, it was generally (but not always expect) that some of the abnormal liver function tests to see, and bilirubin.
